Hot and Hungry in Hogan: MFW #SS16

With chefs pledging their loyalty to seasonal menus, one can infer that Italy has a seasonal sensibility, this being especially true in Milan, where wearing pantyhose out of season will get you glares that would make Kanye West shiver.

This is a fashion city and it’s less about the weather than it is about the arrival of new collections and the editorial schedules that follow them. Why does City Girl go to Fashion Week, you ask? Well, what happens in the kitchen does not stay in the kitchen. Just as each chef has a story to tell, each fashion house and designer has a unique experience to share during the presentations and shows, giving us a personal sense of the rhythm of the current social climate, affecting our interpretation of chef style, and the growing kitchen culture.

During this scorching Men’s Fashion Week in Milan for SS16, I was Hot and Hungry in Hogan, wearing some killer pieces from Hogan SS15 collection, stopping into their #SS16 presentation “The Crystal Ball of Pop” while later stepping down into the underground Cobianchi space in Duomo for the Hunger Magazine event, RANKIN LIVE MILANO.

We have to dish about the details from Hogan’s “The Crystal Ball of Pop” and their progressive vision of luxury sportswear. And pop it did, as we feasted our eyes on the brands famous sneakers and funky accessories catching our fashion week fancy.

THIS SEASON SIMON HOLLOWAY’S COLLECTION FOR HOGAN CONSIDERS THE FUNKY COLLISION OF DISCO, PUNK, ROCK AND RAP IN 1980’S NEW YORK AS CHRONICLED BY THE DOWNTOWN BIBLE OF STYLE: WARHOL’S “INTERVIEW”.

Keeping the beat, no matter the heat, I descended into the cool underground space Spazio Cobianchi near Duomo where Hunger Magazine and notorious fashion photographer Rankin had pulled together a select group of fascinating people for RANKIN LIVE MILANO. The fashion week frenzy may be dormant for a spell, but the inspiration we get continues to make waves, from the table to the runway, floating through our top chef and total kitchen coverage. No matter where we go, we’re cooking up something and now you can get a taste for what City Girl…Cooks.
