Sometimes, even the presence of another diner is too much of a distraction between you and your bowl of hot tonkotsu broth. Luckily, you won’t have to head over to Williamsburg to satisfy your antisocial (or just closeted) noodle fix, as Ichiran has brought its individual ramen dining booths over to Manhattan.
The new location in Midtown West is now open on 31st Street, with the capacity to accommodate up to 46 dateless diners. Though the chain’s renowned pork-based tonkotsu ramen is the only option you’ll find on the paper menu, there’s a myriad of options to customize your bowl, whether it’s adding in a marinated soft-boiled egg, adjusting the fattiness of your broth or choosing exactly how chewy you’d like your freshly made noodles. Further, the sparse menu is rounded out by sides of rice, marinated pork and matcha pudding for dessert.
The new location is open every day from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m., meaning no one really has to know if you’ve just had a giant helping of ramen for breakfast.
