  • Get Palma POP-UP: An Egyptian Designer in Milan

During the month of February, Egyptian fashion designer Get Palma is hosting a pop-up exclusively in Milan. Find the store conveniently located on Corso di Porta Ticinese 87 where you'll find many of the items that can be found on their e-commerce site, www.getpalma-eu.com The pop-up will remain open from 1st February - 2nd March 2025. Find 6 exclusive looks I've put together with pieces currently on the website by scrolling to the end of this article, or click here to jump . Discovering the Egyptian cool girl aesthetic with Get Palma. There's a sense of freedom and a nomadic vibe woven throughout the Get Palma collection. The abundance of retro patterns and details are only an intro to the Egyptian "cool girl" aesthetic. The collection is bursting with bright colors set against neutrals make it easy to get creative and find your style. The Get Palma Pop-up store is a great way to get up close and discover the brand, with the Milan location being stocked full of some of the designer's favorite patterns. On a wet and grey afternoon I passed by the glow of the Get Palma sign at the pop-up store on Corso di Porta Ticinese and decided to pop in and try on a couple looks. The vibrant colors and helpful staff quickly brightened up the day so I wandered around and explored some new styles. I started with a sturdy pair of jeans with embroidered detail on the cuff and a ruby red netted sweater with yellow embroidered flowers. A green flag for patterns on bags at affordable prices and a green dress for me. If you remember or are at all familiar with the Vera Bradley bags of the early 2000's, you will probably know there has been a resurgence in interest of not only vintage VB bags but in bold patterns on bags and totes. The affordable price to quality ratio and design makes the brand a serious contender for people looking to liven up their wardrobe without breaking the bank. Easy to wear jersey wrap dresses like the emerald green one I tried on are available in multiple colors and are designed to be flattering on all bodies. A City Girl Capsule Collection for GetPalma From handbags to headscarfs, it's clear that Get Palma is designed for everyone. With so many ways to be creative and express yourself with this brand, I put together a mini "City Girl Capsule Collection of 6 looks that reflect the of City Girl style, with pieces available for purchase on the Get Palma website. • Highlights: Salone del Mobile 2024 "Materia Natura" - Fuorisalone Milan Design Week

Salone del Mobile Milan 2024, themed "Materia Natura", took place from April 16th to the 24th 2024 at the Rho Fiera tradeshow center, with Fuorisalone events beginning as early as April 13th. Fuorisalone, which translates to "outside Salone" indicates events and exhibitions that are happening outside of the actual tradeshow, usually scattered throughout the City of Milan. Many of the exhibitions are open to the public or require a simple sign-up. Our team spread out during Milan Design Week to attend and share our favorite events and highlights, from exclusive cocktails and opening parties, to public presentations and formidable talks. It's become evident by now that "sustainability" as a theme is as inherent to the future of design as form and function have always been. This evolution is a reflection of the collective values being carried forward by recent generations who are hyper aware of the climate crisis and the environmental impact of production and design. The theme from this year, "Materia Natura", translates to natural material and is reminiscent of the Italian phrase "Materia Prima" referring to raw materials. However, the defining difference lies within the all-encompassing character of nature itself, not only as a source of materials but as an intrinsic connection to conscious design culture as, natural. Fashion brands and Design continue to converge, always finding more ways to creatively elaborate brands’ ethos. With so many exciting exhibits this year, our editorial staff was pressed to choose their favorites but there were some concepts that definitely stood out. Here are some of the highlights from Milan Design Week 2024 from the CGC editorial staff. JUMP TO 1. Roberto Cavalli Home by Fausto Pugliese 2. Loro Piana Interiors - “A Tribute to Cini Boeri” 3.
